Generosity Wins

Updated: 3 days ago

for November 24, 2024 | November Focus on Financial Stewardship

This weekend marks the Feast of Christ the King, a beautiful celebration of Christ’s sovereignty as the Word of God. It's a wonderful opportunity to invite Him into your life, surrender to His guidance, and follow His path. Here at St. Alexander, we have many ways for you to do this. For instance, we are concluding our Stewardship Month by encouraging you to fill out the St. Alexander Church Faith Commitment Form. We did this last year. This year you will find the form at your pews, and we invite you to take a moment to thoughtfully consider your financial support for our parish. We will collect the forms after the homily. We deeply appreciate your generosity and dedication to your faith.

Additionally, on Sunday evening, (November 24th at 7:00 pm) we will hold a special night of adoration with confessions. This is a perfect chance to affirm your commitment to Christ through prayer and worship, accompanied by beautiful music. A big thank you to our own Danica Bucci and Stephanie Menicanin from St. Kevin's for leading our music. Come as you are, and leave as a more devoted disciple. We will have several confessors available as well. Laura Stevenson, our parish youth minister, will share a word about this after all the masses this weekend.

Lastly, this year has been challenging for our parish due to the loss of loved ones. I have decided to offer another Mass on Monday November 25th at 7:00 pm for the repose of the souls of those who have passed this year. I will read aloud the names of many who have left us. If you would like the name of a loved one mentioned during this Mass, especially if they passed this year, please reach out to the parish office, reply to this email, or email me directly at macneil65@gmail.com. We will do our best to include everyone. For those who have recently experienced a loss, this may be a meaningful way to prepare for your first Christmas in honour of your loved one's memory.
