2nd Sunday of Advent
Are you interested in hosting a small group? We are holding a special information session for small group hosts on Monday, December 16th, at 7:00 pm.
I know we are in the season of Advent, but I'd like us to look forward to Lent. One of our "STEPS" to discipleship is "Engaging" in the Christian community, and we would like to do this during Lent by encouraging all our parishioners to join a small group. As our parish grows, small groups become essential to maintain that feeling of support and encouragement that our Christian community is meant to foster. So we have purchased 500 books entitled "Rebuilt Faith," and we would like to invite all our parishioners into a small group to study this book for 6 weeks. It's written by Fr. Michael White and Tom Corcoran and is structured around the " STEPS " I mentioned above (Serve, Tithe and give, Engage in the Christian Community, Practice prayer and sacraments and Share your Faith).
I am bringing this up now because we need to start planning early. In particular, we are looking for hosts to facilitate these small groups. Do you like engaging in conversation in an informal setting? Do you like to share your faith with others? Do you consider yourself personable and likeable? You don't need to have an advanced degree in theology to be a small group host; you only need to be willing and humble to learn with others.

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated on Monday December 9th this year. Mass 9:00 am.
