The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 7th following morning Mass.

Saturday, May 31--save the date to attend the Speakers' Forum at St. Alfred. This is in regard to the focus of the Diocesan Council since April 2024: the unhoused and mental health. Be sure to let Deedee know if you plan to attend--10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. We're having a pizza lunch and need numbers. Please see the poster.

CWL St Alexander

The Annual Meeting of Members / Convention will be held on Tuesday, April 8 at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church at 91 Lakeshore Rd., St. Catharines (same place as the Meet and Greet). Please see the poster on the CWL bulletin board. The cost for the day is $80.00 and includes snacks and lunch. Please pay Elsie Bell, CWL Treasurer. Any questions, call Deedee: 905-732-4782.

The CWL Election has started. If you are a member in good standing, please take a few moments to complete a nomination form by April 14--please find the sheets by the CWL bulletin board. Any questions, contact Deedee.

We are currently collecting items for the Easter baskets. Please consult the list on the CWL bulletin board. All donations are very greatly appreciated.

St. Alexander CWL

Keep in mind two significant upcoming events:

1) Saturday, March 22, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Betty Colaneri, next National CWL President, will be having a workshop for the CWL Diocese members--all members are invited to attend.

This is a free event; however, please register with Deedee by March 17--we need to know numbers for sweets and treats.

2) Saturday, May 31, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Speakers' Forum at St. Alfred Parish in St. Catharines

The Keynote Speaker is Marni Katzman, who lived in shelters for three years;

Father Gerard Power, St. Patrick Parish in Niagara Falls--who works tirelessly for the people in encampments;

Jane LaVacca, Executive Director of Westview Centre 4 Women.

This is a fantastic opportunity!

CWL members, spouses, friends, etc. (over 18 years old) are invited.

The event is free.

Please register with Deedee by May 28--pizza lunch and we need numbers.

Dear Sisters in the League!

The Annual Meeting of Members / Convention deadline to sign up and pay is Monday, March 17. Please sign the sheet on the bulletin board if you are interested in attending the event on Tuesday, April 8.

Also, let Deedee know by March 19 if you plan to attend the free CWL event on Saturday, March 22 held at St. Alexander between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Finally, information regarding CWL elections is by the bulletin board. Remember that nominations close on April 15.

Dear CWL Sisters of St. Alexander,

There are two main topics to share with you: annual elections and Easter Baskets. But, first--we are asking every member to please wear your CWL scarf when you attend Mass. Thank you.

Annual CWL Elections: important dates--

Tuesday, March 4: monthly general meeting at 9:45 a.m., following 9 a.m. Mass

election information packages will be dispersed and the process will be explained

all positions are open except the Past-President position which will be filled by out-going President, Bev Pupo

packages will be available at the CWL area in the foyer--where the nominations box will be positioned

Tuesday, April 1: monthly general meeting at 9:45 a.m., following 9 a.m. Mass

Tuesday, April 15: deadline for nominations for positions for the June 2025-June 2027 Executive Council

***nominated members will be contacted by phone by Donna Bitondo, Bev Pupo, and Deedee Alexandre

Tuesday, May 6: monthly general meeting at 9:45 a.m., following 9 a.m. Mass

voting and announcement of new Executive Council will take place

Sunday, May 25: 11 a.m. Mass: Installation Ceremony of new Executive Council and Presentation of Service Pins

Tuesday, June 3: monthly general meeting at 9:45 a.m., following 9 a.m. Mass

12:30 p.m.--lunch at MT Bellies / deadline to sign up: May 26

Easter Basket--important dates

February 15-March 12: collection of donations--there will be an area in the foyer for drop-offs as well as a list of suggested items

March 15-April 6: tickets will be sold before and after Masses; $2.00/ticket or $5.00 for 3 tickets

Thursday, April 10: draw will take place in the foyer--winners will be called

Annual Lenten Retreat at Mount Carmel

The annual Lenten Retreat is quickly approaching.

It will be held at Mount Carmel and you have a choice of dates to attend: either Wednesday, February 19 or Saturday, March 1.

Cost is $50.00 and can be paid to Elsie Bell before February 10--deadline for payment.
