Community Outreach Program

Partnering to help

in our Community

Starting in April 2024, the focus for all the CWL Dioceses across Canada would be on some aspect of mental health; it was decided that the St. Catharines CWL Diocese focus would be the “unhoused and mental health”.

Pelham Cares, St Vincent de Paul and the Hope Centre will be the primary places that will benefit from donations collected from St. Alexander CWL initiatives.

When approached by the St. Alexander CWL, Pelham Cares indicated that there are approximately 120 unhoused single women who could benefit from the donation of the following items:

  • shampoo/conditioner=travel size,

  • pkgs of body wipes,

  • Band-Aids,

  • toothpaste/toothbrush,

  • hairbrush/comb,

  • hand lotion=travel size,

  • Kleenex pouches,

  • bars of soap,

  • feminine hygiene products

These need to be collected by December 8 in the box in the narthex/foyer.

Your support is very much appreciated.

Warm-vember

Until November 30, the CWL will be collecting mitts/gloves, scarves, and hats for the Warm-vember event.  Any and all donations would be appreciated; please place the items in the barrel in the narthex/foyer.  Thank you for your generosity.

Christmas Lunch

The Christmas lunch will take place on Tuesday, December 10th at MT Bellies at 12:30 p.m.--following the St. Alexander CWL meeting in the Vision Cafe.

Special Guest Speaker

this Tuesday 9:45-11:30

Monthly CWL Meeting

This Tuesday our guest speaker will be Kathryn Willms. She will be sharing her experience walking the Camino in Spain!

The Camino is as much a cultural journey as it is a spiritual one. It is a route that stretches over 500 miles over hilly terrain and typically takes a seasoned hiker 35 days to complete! We can't wait to hear her share her story. More on the Camino in our post, link is All CWL Updates, the button below this section.

Father Paul will also make a brief presentation as well.

About our CWL

Our CWL, Catholic Women's League, is a spiritual community of sisters that is always growing and welcoming new members.

If you are interested but have not yet joined our sisterhood, Tuesday would be a great opportunity to come meet us and see what we are all about!

YAY! We did it!

A BIG Sock-tober THANK YOU!

We Filled the Barrel!

Socktober Success! Thank you to all the parishioners who assisted in donating 260 pairs of brand-new socks for the Sock-tober annual collection!  They were given to Pelham Cares and the St. Vincent de Paul.
